However since the change in temperature, my cro-jo has returned with a vengence, and for that I am really happy. I must remember to take more regular breaks though as I have had a few twinges in my arm if I do too much in a night.
At the moment, I have
Project 1 - (Blushes) this is the blanket I had intended on gifting my grown up nephew last Christmas (I had to give him emergency cash as I just couldn't make it quickly enough - with the move it's been pushed to one side). See all those ends to sew in - eeekkkkkkkkkkkkk. It's folded in half length ways below. It is so very nearly finished now.
Project 3 - A scarf for my F-i-L's Birthday. This was started this month and needs to be gifted on the 23rd of this month. I love the colour and hope it'll be one of those that grow and grow, almost without noticing it.
Project 4 - Chunky blanket. This was also meant to be made last Winter but the move got in the way. This was started in October and will hopefully be finished this month. I've decided I'm not a fan of chunky yarn - it's too heavy as the blanket grows, but boy is it warm.
You've got some lovely makes on the go. I have to say that I haven't picked my crochet up all summer and I'm so in to cross stitch and knitting at the moment so it may be some time before it's picked up again.
ReplyDeleteI think we go in cycles Jo and I also think that's perfectly ok. I used to love cross stitch but haven't picked it up in years. I have started looking at it again so I wonder if I have a cross stitch cycle due to start soon. x
DeleteCrochet is definitely a winter craft... my blankets sit untouched all summer and then come out for the autumn rush to get them finished! I have too many projects on the go at the moment. I must sit and finish some!
ReplyDeleteI should finish the chunky blanket today and that makes me so happy! x
DeleteSewing in ends, one of my least favourite things, but I guess it has to be done. You have some gorgeous blankets on the go and I love the rich colour of the scarf for your fil xx
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, The blanket which is closest to being finished doesn't have any ends as I crocheted over them as i went (not sure of the correct term). I don't like the finished look as much, but I have 6 to sew in where I had to add wool to a row. I am feeling a little snug that once I finish doing the rows it is virtually ready to gift :-) x
ReplyDeleteLoving that last blanket, the colours are scrummy, you'll be toasty under that.
ReplyDeleteLisa x
Thanks Lisa. It's for Hubby and not quite finished. I reckon it'll need another 10 rows or so. He already has it though, so will need to steal it back to finish it. x
