Making me HAPPY this week

I am not technically (or at all) sticking to only showing you things from this past week.  I have finally been looking at my holiday photos and I have a photo which I suspect will be my happiest photo for all year.

Here it is;

1)

Now you might be thinking?????????????  When you are either pushing a wheelie or the person sitting in the wheelie is pushing themselves you don't get to hold hands anymore - at all.  And I miss it.  I really miss it.  On our hols my Dad helped out by pushing sometimes so we got to hold hands and it was lovely.  I did get some strange looks when taking the photo but so be it!

2) Anni B.  Well she does have to appear at least once - she tells me it is the law!

(She's trying to convince H to suck off the chocolate so she can have a Malteser).  I love that H loves his blanket so much he uses it to cover his chair.

3) Popping to the farm shop to stock up on good quality meat.  I hate the stuff you get from the supermarket - the chicken which shrinks to half the size when you cook it.  Our local farm shop (I wish it was closer) is lovely.  I usually spend £60-£70 about every 3 months and I think it's worth every penny.

4) Meeting my ex S-I-L for coffee.  We don't see as much as each other as I would like, but when we do it doesn't matter how long it's been.  We just pick up where we left off - my Mum always told me that this is the sign of a true friendship.

5) Finally pulling my finger out and posting some surprises out there.  Did you get one?

We have a funeral this week.  H's Grandad.  I have been asked not to wear black as he wouldn't have liked it but I hate this.  I have a dark purple dress which I am going to wear with nude shoes but it makes me uncomfortable not knowing what everyone else will wear.  I'll either fit in with everyone else or stand out like a sore thumb.

  1. I can get the idea that you never hold hands when someone is in a wheelchair, so it is really lovely to see your holiday snap showing that, and to know it makes you happy. May you get many more opportunities to hold hands, and I'm going to grab every chance I can to hold hands with Mr AJ now!

    1. It is the little things you miss when a wheelie gets in the way. Mind he is really handy when I have too many bags to carry :-)

  2. I'm sorry to hear about H's grandad, sending my sincere condolences and lots of hugs. I can understand why that first photo is very special, it's little things, like being unable to hold hands, which people who have no experience of having to use a wheelchair don't even think about. I'm glad your dad helped out so that you could enjoy these little pleasures whilst you were away.

  3. Sorry to hear about your Grandad. I hope that the funeral goes as well as it can do. I am sure that whatever you wear your Grandad would just be glad that you are there. I love the photo of you and your hubby holding hands, that is a real treasure indeed!!! Those are the moments to savour in life aren't they. Thinking of you this week. Hugs. xx

    1. I think we sometimes forget the little things in life (hence my Sunday posts to try and remind me of them) and I think we need to celebrate them as much as the bigger joys we have.
