Boiler Woes

Our boiler has broken down - again.  I hate our boiler, absolutely HATE it.  It's the worst thing we have ever bought- fact.

The day before the warranty ran out it caught fire!!!  It took me 6 hours on hold to get someone to fix it.  God, I cried in frustration that day :-)  I think it's broken down virtually once a year since we bought it.

Yesterday  morning it was working, yesterday afternoon it wasn't.  Blooming thing.  The worst thing is that I have never found a reliable repair man.  One guy who was sent broke it further and then said he didn't know how to fix it..........  Grrrrrrr and it has never been right since.

Thankfully Dad's neighbour has a couple of heaters in his attic, so at least we had heating last night.  Is it really wrong to be sat here in my coat?

Do you think someone has discovered the new heat source?

  1. Oh, boilers! When the weather goes cold our boiler declares a panic and shuts down. It's like a Ford Car factory in the 1970's! We have the British Gas cover at 20.00 a month and, I have to be honest, we get full value from it. Over the years we have had the pump replaced, the timer replaces, the electric something or other in the boiler. ... it's been exciting but VERY cold! Warm thoughts coming your way from Liverpool !

    1. Our boiler has been nothing but trouble. We've had so many spare parts that i think the only original thing is the casing!!! Waiting on a spare part to fix it - we hope!

  2. I hope you've got your boiler sorted out, it always seems to be this time of year when they break down and it's the time we need them most. Looks like Anni's happy though. I love the picture of Patch, what a special present that is, just beautiful.

    1. Not yet, we've had to have a part ordered in. Hoping it'll get here soon. The living room isn't too cold with the heater (when Anni doesn't hog it all) but the rest of the house is a little unpleasant ;-) Am hoping my Dad will come down and hang the picture soon. It's going to have pride of place in the living room.
